About Chez Dugas

Hi, I’m Craig Dugas, the cook and editor behind Chez Dugas. I cook, I tinker, and I share.

This site isn’t about chasing trends, stuffing pages with filler, or pumping out a million mediocre recipes. I’m not here to convince you that my way is the only way, I just love making plant-based food that tastes great and makes me feel great (starch-centered & oil-free). And, I want to help others do the same.

What You’ll Find Here

  • No-nonsense recipes from my kitchen – If it’s here, it’s because I’ve made it (probably many times) and think it’s worth sharing. No fluff, no 20-paragraph backstory before the recipe.
  • Plant-based, oil-free cooking with flavor – I focus on homestyle flavors, simple techniques, and creative takes on familiar favorites.
  • Smart ingredient and equipment recommendations – If I mention an ingredient or tool, it’s because I actually use it. Some links might be affiliate links, but I will never, ever recommend junk.

What You Won’t Find

  • Obnoxious ads and pop-ups – I’d rather keep things clean and easy to use.
  • Recipe spam – You won’t find a hundred different ways to make the same thing just for the sake of content.
  • Gimmicks or food dogma – I share what truly works for me; I’m not here to tell you how to eat or live.

What Else?

This site is founded on all the postive parts of plant-based, oil-free cooking and sharing recipes that truly make a difference. That said, I value practicality over perfection. While I don't cook with oil, in the foods I prepare I allow for small exceptions in store-bought ingredients (like canned chipotles or certain breads) for the sake of convenience.

I appreciate you being here. Whether you’re just getting into plant-based cooking or you’ve been at it for years, I hope you find something helpful.
